Leadership Development

ASHT is committed to developing emerging leaders both within the society and the hand therapy community. The Board of Directors has initiated a leadership development program, providing members with resources and leadership opportunities to achieve their goals.

e-Community Discussion Group

The Emerging Leaders e-Community group was created for ASHT members to learn more about leadership within ASHT at all levels, share volunteer opportunities and facilitate conversation among members in order to further their careers as leaders in the hand and upper extremity therapy community. If you are interested in being a dynamic player in this field to any degree, this engaging group is for you!

LEAD Forum

The ASHT LEAD (Leadership Education and Discovery) Forum provides ASHT members with an interactive opportunity to discuss leadership development, education and resources, and gain additional confidence and strategies for success in their own professional and personal settings. LEAD Forum activities include the ASHT Virtual Book Club and TED Talk discussions. Please check back for future events.

If you have any future LEAD Forum recommendations, or an idea for a leadership development program, please contact asht@asht.org.

Board Intern

The ASHT Board of Directors Intern position was established to introduce ASHT members to the process of board governance, nonprofit budget construction and ASHT activities. This opportunity will provide the intern with an experience to enhance his/her career in hand and upper extremity therapy, and help develop leadership skills that lead to future participation as a committee chair, division director or board member. This also provides a unique networking opportunity with ASHT leaders from around the country.

If you are interested in learning more about the board intern position, please contact asht@asht.org.
