Webinar Description:
The sport of pickleball is currently increasing in popularity; therefore, there is rising demand related to the occurrence and treatment of pickleball-related injuries. Hand and upper extremity therapists are likely encountering pickleball-related injuries necessitating a good understanding of assessment and intervention for these types of injuries particularly when the injury is a cumulative trauma related to actual play of the sport. This webinar will explore current research on pickleball-related injuries, analyze body dynamics during play and discuss recommendations for equipment modification and other interventions to reduce upper extremity related conditions and symptoms.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:

  1. Identify common pickleball-related injuries
  2. Discuss OT interventions and recommendations for reducing symptoms/preventing upper extremity injuries
  3. Make recommendations on style of racket grip
  4. Analyze good versus poor body mechanics during play
  5. Discuss possible options for pickleball equipment modification for addressing symptoms

Attendees earn 1.0 contact hour or 0.10 CEUs
